The arterial malformation, also called an AVM, start to bleed.  In some patients this may be a cause of unexplained bleeding and iron deficiency anemia. Often times at endoscopy, such lesions can be missed, since they may not present themselves to be seen by the endoscopist.
In this picture, the ARGON laser tip has been directed via the endoscope and fired at the AVM.
After several shots at the AVM, no further bleeding is noted.
