Hong Taing Tek, M.D., A.G.A.F.

     Dr. Hong Taing Tek completed his doctorate of medicine at the University of Phnom-Penh in Cambodia in 1970.  Afterwards, he moved to the United States for his internship at the VA Hospital in Washington, D.C. transferring to Howard University Hospital, also in Washington, D.C., for his residency, followed by one fellowship, which he completed in 1976, at the Washington Hospital Center. He completed his second fellowship at J.H.E.P. in Jacksonville, Florida and was appointed Acting Chief of the Gastroenterology Section.   He also served as Instructor of Medicine at J.H.E.P. during this time. Soon after, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for the Department of Medicine in Jacksonville, a post which he maintains until this day.

Medicine is his first love but, when time allows, Dr. Tek also enjoys photography. He speaks and writes fluently French, Cambodian, and English. He also spends his time as an active member in the Cambodian Association of Jacksonville, serving as its president from 1986 to 1990. He is very proud to host a monthly health segment on "Voice of America: Hello V.O.A. Radio Talk Show" broadcasted in Khmer to Cambodia.
